Commencement Celebrations: Preparing your Living Room for a Graduation Party
March 30, 2015
After four years in high school and/or three or more years in college, what’s a better way to celebrate this milestone than to have a party? Graduation parties can also be held in a hotel or a restaurant, but how about holding it in your own house, in the best place for such events and gatherings – the living room? Won’t that be both cozy and amazing?
Whether the number of your guests is small enough to fill your sofa bed or so many that the living room will become a standing room, it would be best to prepare your living room for a graduation party that no one will forget.
We often put our best things in our living rooms, ranging from porcelain plates and jars to potpourris. In After all, guests will most likely put their glasses on tabletops. The decorations that you decide not to keep should be wiped with a wipe rug, since there could already be covered with dust. You can also do this in cleaning table tops if you don’t have wood polishers.
If you have any carpets, it’s best to wash them. If you don’t have enough time, you can simply sweep or vacuum them;l you don’t want your guests to inhale any dust. Sofas, on the other hand, can either be vacuumed or wiped, depending on the materials it is made.
Lastly, don’t forget to spray air freshener to remove any foul-smelling odor. If you don’t have an air freshener at home, you can use scented candles or essential oils and potpourris, since they have specific scents that can remove foul-smelling odor. If you don’t have any of those items, spraying your favorite perfume can do the trick!
Prepare Necessary Materials
There are specific things that you should not forget. when preparing for events such as this and coasters will be one of them. Most of the time, you’ll be serving cold drinks that really sweat as time pass. These cold drinks cause moisture to form on their containers. This moisture can drip on your furniture and possibly mark it. To ensure that this doesn’t happen, serve drinks with coasters. You’ll also need rugs, tissues, and trash bags – a lot of them. Maintaining cleanliness is essential to enjoy a party. Although you won’t be using them during the event itself, you will once you have to start cleaning up.
For a special occasion such as this, it’s preferable to change the curtains, rugs, and/or pillow covers. Doing so will not only impress the guests, but also ensure that you have a clean-looking living room. After all, you wouldn’t want guests to see dirty or half-eaten covers and curtains, especially in the part of the house where they’ll be staying most of the time.
A memorable and wonderful event like graduation deserves a memorable and wonderful celebration. It’s possible, even in just the comfort of your own home. There are many ways how, but all of them requires preparing the living room. So what are you waiting for? School’s out, so get on it.
