THE CORE OF RGC FOUNDATION’S SHARED COMMITMENT
An overview of our advocacy
Recognizing the corporate’s role to campaign and embrace the value of education, the RGC Group’s flagship service program runs through the veins of educational institutions touching lives of the youth that will soon assume the leadership and assist in socio-economic development of our country.
The Robert G. Cheng/Uratex Foundation serves as the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the RGC Group of Companies. It was established from the direction of Mrs. Natividad Cheng to continue and institutionalize the spirit of kindness, compassion and generosity of her husband, Mr. Robert G. Cheng, founder of Polyfoam Chemical Corporation (RGC Group of Companies).
The company’s humble beginning was accompanied with a great advocacy to give every Filipino a comfortable and affordable mattress to lie on. This was enlivened by their mission to be the customers’ and employees’ choice while serving and contributing to the society. Particularly, committed to education and health advocacy, rehabilitation programs, community service and volunteerism.
High regard to education
This advocacy serves an everyday continued celebration to the families of 243 Robert G. Cheng/Uratex Scholars. Their high regard to education keep their soundless moves to continue their programs – school chairs and tables donation, bags and school supplies distribution, Brigada Eskwela participation and widening of educational assistance and scholarships – that kindles to the grounds of this country.
It is not a gift of fame or leverage but a full-hearted gratitude and honor of the company once recognized by beneficiaries.
“The School Year 2016-2017 ended with a celebration of a miracle and a celebration of hope that springs from generosity. Your kindness helped fuel our scholars’ dream, all 429 of them who graduated last May 26 and 27… The Robert G. Cheng/Uratex Scholarship recipients, Jayvee F. Angala and Kristel Ivy G. Si (Magna cum laude), graduated!” – Jumela F. Sarmiento, Ph.D., Director of the Office of Admission and Aid, Ateneo de Manila University
The Robert G. Cheng/Uratex Foundation believes that it is a shared commitment of the company to deliver transformational change through education advocacy and service-committed relationship with the community.
