Parents from show business forgot the spotlight and had fun with their children at Baby Blast Year 5: Go, Glow and Grow! at the Trinoma Activity Center.

Bernadette Sembrano, Amy Perez, Patricia Hizon, Lindsay Custodio and Chariz Solomon and celebrity couples Jan Marini and Gerard Pizzaraz, and Anthony and Rossel Taberna joined the bulilit hosts Noel Comia and Faye Alhambra in a one-day fun-o-lympic event highlighting the importance of exposing children to outdoor activities and early childhood education.

Already on its fifth year, Baby Blast was organized by Outbox Media Production Agency in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Philippine Pediatric Society to spread awareness of the importance of parent-child bonding, enjoyable and unforced learning and hands-on play.

“The theme highlighted the importance of allowing babies and kids to experience the outdoors and engage in physical activities that can benefit their social, mental, physical and emotional development, given today’s tendency to rely on gadgets and technology to keep kids busy,” said Taberna from Outbox Media.

The event included five age-related activity areas where kids could play: Crawling Race for babies six months to one year old; Building Blocks for one- to two-year-old kids; Dressing Up for 3’s; Recognizing Patterns for four-year-olds; and Relay Games for five to seven year-olds. There were on-ground areas like Uratex play pen, looming area and coloring area; parenting and health talks led by experts and medical practitioners; fun contests, mascot appearances, cool science experiments, a self-defense techniques session; face painting, photo booths and kinect games for the whole family.
